Photography: New book TO THE SEA out on World Oceans Day
A photographic ode to the ocean, TO THE SEA is the latest book from Cambridge-based Shutter Hub – and it’s a beauty. . .
Aiming to “inspire reflection on the ocean’s vast influence, from personal memories to pressing environmental concerns”, Shutter Hub Editions publishes its latest photobook, TO THE SEA, on World Oceans Day (June 8).
Containing 100 works by more than 80 international photographers, TP THE SEA encompasses a vast range of perspectives and storytelling styles, with subjects including nature, human connection and environmental urgency.
Dedicated to raising awareness of the critical role the seas play in sustaining life on Earth, World Ocean Day is a fitting date for the book - which is printed in the UK on uncoated recycled paper - to launch, says Karen Harvey MBE, Shutter Hub founder.
“Although it’s bigger than all of us, vast and powerful, the sea very much needs us to look after it. As climate change imposes more circumstantial realities on us, it becomes evermore important in our everyday lives.”
Based in Cambridge, Shutter Hub provides opportunities, support and networking for creative photographers worldwide, with Editions its publishing wing.
TO THE SEA is available to order now at shutterhub.org.uk, priced £15 (plus P&P).
